DJI Neo Motion Flymore Combo

Do you know why DJI Neo is one of the best drones that is out there? Not because it is affordable. Not because it has a 4k resolution. Not because it is portable, but because we get to experience FPV for an insane price!!

When DJI Neo is paired up with Motion Controller 3 and DJI Goggles 3, it provides an exciting way to fly the drone! The entire set – DJI Neo, Motion Controller, and DJI Goggles – is called the  DJI Neo Motion Fly More Combo. The best part about this drone is that we can all indulge in a thrilling virtual experience all while it is simple to use. Not only is it beginner friendly but also it is suitable for seasonal drone users. You can get this fascinating FPV experience for the best price that is offered by Xboom!

Let us take you through the flight test of the drone, covering everything from setup to performance, and some of the quirks along the way.

The set up

The set up procedure is quite simple and user friendly. The first step is to switch on all the devices –  the drone, motion controller 3, and DJI Goggles 3. To connect everything, simply hold down the power button on the Neo until the LED lights blink. This shows that it is ready to pair. Next, press the button on the goggles until you hear a beep, and within seconds, the connection is established. That’s it! The set-up is done! It’s that easy.

First Flight Test

Now that the setup is done, it is time to launch the drone in the sky! Simply double-click the button on the controller to start the propellers, then click and hold the launch button. As soon as the drone took off, we ould notice how smooth the flight felt when using the motion controller. The controller system is quite similar to Avata 2, super easy to use and works like a charm.

Because DJI Neo falls under the nano category of drones, it can be flown both indoor as well as outdoor. The controls feel the same, and the video quality in 4K30 is impressive for such a small drone. However, there was a slight lag in the goggles, maybe because of the 30 fps settings. Switching to 60 fps might help smooth things out.

Operations

Speaking of smooth things, DJI Neo Motion Fly More Combo shines when it comes to operations. During the test, the drone reached a speed of around 15 – 16 mph in the normal mode. As we gained altitude, we observed that it maintains stability. But there was a visible difference when we flew it in windy conditions. Because of its light weight design it is not as stable as bigger drones. Given that the wind conditions are light, the DJI Neo Motion Fly More Combo performs admirably well.

Navigation

One of the features stood out to us while we were testing the drone was its ability to travel through tight spaces. We had a spider web setup used in the test to check out this ability. We understood that the precision of the motion controller makes it easy to navigate small gaps. It is clear from this test that DJI Neo Motion Fly More Combo’s performance is impressive, and the same type of control and responsiveness found in Avata 2 is present here.

Sports Mode

The next test was regarding checking the sport mode. The DJI Neo Motion Fly More Combo offers multiple flight modes. When we switched it up to sports mode, it significantly speeded up. In sport mode, the drone could reach a maximum speed of about 17 mph, which is slightly faster than normal mode. The propeller guards were present and hence there was a little addition in weight. But one thing to be kept in mind is that they can be removed for better performance.

In sports mode we also discovered that the drone has impressive breaking ability. When tried, the drone stopped instantly, showcasing its responsive control system. One thing to note though is that the DJI Neo Motion Fly More Combo lacks obstacle avoidance features, relying only on sensors to maintain altitude. So, while it’s great for controlled indoor flights and tight spaces, we had to be cautious about potential collisions, especially in more unpredictable outdoor conditions.

Battery and RTH

The battery of the drone started to exhaust after a while, which led to an interesting situation with the “return to home feature”. In this test, the drone mistook its home point to be located in the driveway. Probably could have been a glitch caused by high-speed takeoff. Even though this happened, the Neo featured a “return to home” function. But we detected that the home point  can sometimes be affected by factors such as battery level and GPS connectivity.

As the battery is close to critical level, the drone descends steadily at a rate of about  4.5 miles per hour. The return to home feature functions well in general, but as seen in this test, it’s worth paying attention to the GPS signal and ensuring that the drone’s location is properly updated.

Indoor Flights

As we all  know that Neo belongs to the nano category of drone, one of the most fun aspects of the DJI Neo Motion Fly More Combo is its ability to handle indoor flights with ease. In this test, the drone flew through various rooms, including the dining area, kitchen, and living room. The flight performance was smooth, without any drop in the video quality despite the fast – paced movements. The Motion Controller makes controlling the drone indoors especially fun, giving clear and seamless movements that are perfect for flying around obstacles like plants, furniture, and even tight hallways.

Speed

However we saw that there’s a slight limitation in terms of speed control. When we were attempting to fly downwards quickly, the Motion Controller’s responsiveness was somewhat limited. The drone’s natural landing is slower compared to other movements, but with practice, we can achieve smooth, controlled flights.

Conclusion

To sum it up, the DJI Neo, combined with the Motion Controller 3 and DJI Goggles 3, provides an incredibly fun and accessible flying experience. Its size makes it perfect for indoor flights and tight spaces, while its responsive controls make it easy to navigate both indoors and outdoors. This is best for people looking for portable drones. Even though the Neo can’t handle strong winds as well as larger drones, its versatility, camera quality, and is user friendly features makes it the perfect choice for audiences who are looking to experience the world of FPV drone flying.

If you are looking forward to having an amazing FVP experience, the DJI Neo Motion Fly More Combo is available at Xboom with the best price possible!
