Equipped with advanced features like 1-Touch Level/Span and continuous laser-assisted autofocus, it effortlessly detects potential faults and temperature anomalies. Its ergonomic design ensures comfortable usage, making it ideal for prolonged condition monitoring and research applications. With Inspection Route mode, users can streamline electrical and mechanical surveys, troubleshooting, and repairs by following pre-planned routes created in FLIR Thermal Studio Pro. This enables recording of temperature data and imagery in a systematic sequence, enhancing efficiency and accuracy. Additionally, the built-in Macro Mode facilitates seamless transition from wide-angle to close-up analysis without requiring a lens change, catering to the diverse needs of R&D users. Coupled with Research Studio software, the T540 aids engineers in identifying unexpected hot spots and uncovering potential design flaws, thereby facilitating informed decision-making and improving product quality.

FLIR T540 Thermal Imaging Camera Features: The new FLIR T540 Thermal Camera offers the uncompromising image quality and flexibility that professionals rely on in the FLIR T-Series. The T540 also makes use of all the latest FLIR innovations in ruggedness, communications, and measurement. Factory calibrated interchangeable lenses can be added as needed, and even exchanged between cameras without recalibration. A new laser autofocus system ensures that your images always look their best, quickly focusing the lens to the exact distance measurement. Plus WiFi and Bluetooth allow smooth mirroring of the T540 screen to a tablet or phone for safer operation, or for sharing the camera between coworkers. The FLIR T540 delivers the image, sensitivity, and feature set required for professionals in planned maintenance, electrical inspection, and facility management. The FLIR T540 also has a Screening function suitable for fever detection, 0.5°C (0.9°F) accuracy at 37°C (98.6°F) with reference

Imaging: The impressive image of the FLIR T540 is rooted in the new 464 x 348 resolution, for a total of 161,472 pixels. This is more than twice the pixels of a 320 x 240 resolution thermal imager. Combined with an excellent sensitivity of just 0.03 °C, the T540 can often see details that are only visible in combined thermal/visible images on lower resolution cameras. We have even been able to see writing on equipment identification plates while in thermal only mode. The T540 can view and measure objects with temperatures from -4 to 2732 °F (-20 to 1500 °C). A lens block that can be rotated up to 180° makes your work easier when viewing overhead equipment or needing to peer around obstacles.

Interchangeable Lenses: The T540 includes the latest FLIR lens technology, which allows you to seamlessly change lenses without recalibration. While lenses were formerly calibrated to an individual camera, the new FLIR AutoCal lenses are quantified at the factory, and all necessary calibration data is stored on a chip in the lens housing. When a new lens is attached to the T540, the camera scans for the lens data, and adjusts to the recognized calibration. Lenses can be added without downtime, and you can even share the same lens between cameras. AutoCal lenses for the T500 series are available in 14 degree (narrow, telephoto), 24 degree (standard), and 42 degree (wide angle) configurations.

MSX and UltraMax: A 5MP visible light camera is also included on the FLIR T540 camera. For better documentation and reporting, a visible image is captured with each thermal image. Through FLIR MSX image processing, the visible image is also analyzed for edges, words, and patterns. These are then embossed into the thermal image in real time, giving a view that looks more like the world as we see it, yet with full thermal data. MSX can be toggled on and off, and can be accomplished later in the free FLIR Tools software as well. Another feature available through FLIR Tools is UltraMax super resolution. When activated on the T540, the camera will take 16 images in a quick burst. Upon download these are combined into a resulting image that has twice the resolution, or 928 x 696 (645,888 pixels). Because this is true resolution, all radiometric thermal data is available for analysis.

Laser Autofocus and Area: If your images are out of focus you may not have the information you need to make a decision; or worse yet, you may make the wrong decision. FLIR tackles this head on in the new T500 cameras by including laser assisted autofocus. It uses a built in laser distance meter to determine the distance to the target, then quickly adjusts the lens to the measured distance. The T540 autofocus can be activated as needed, or set to operate continuously. To ensure you have the most flexibility for imaging any target, the FLIR T540 also has a manual focus ring. The laser distance meter is also used for another great feature: the T540 can measure surface area. Just use the touchscreen to create a box over the target area, and the camera will use the known distance to calculate the area of the box. All area calculations are recorded with any captured image.

Touchscreen: The brilliant touchscreen of the FLIR T540 camera is larger, brighter, and more responsive than comparable cameras. Made of tough Dragontrail glass, it is notoriously crack and scratch resistant. At the same time, the screen is sensitive enough to allow for multi touch gestures such as swiping from the top for shortcuts, or pinching to zoom in and out. The screen can be seen well even outside, and the wide 160° viewing angle make it easy for others to share the view.

Image and Video Capture: The FLIR T540 records all captured media to a removable SD card that will store thousands of image sets. Images can be captured as thermal, visible, MSX, and picture in picture. Or mount the T540 to a standard tripod and record a series of time lapse images at a user defined interval. Record thermal video to understand how equipment behaves as it warms up. Or stream video to your laptop to record video with full radiometric data for later analysis. Images and videos can be organized into whatever folder system you desire, by date, job name, etc. Images can be annotated by touchscreen keyboard, or from a list of frequently used notes that you specify. Or use the built in microphone and speaker to make voice annotations. You can even sketch right on the screen overtop a saved image, circling areas of concern.

Communications: Connection and communications extend the usefulness of an infrared camera, so FLIR has included a myriad of options for interfacing with the T540. WiFi can seamlessly mirror the live image to a phone or tablet through the free FLIR Tools Mobile app for iOS and Android. The camera can join an existing network, or form an ad hoc network from the camera directly to the device. Images and video can be captured straight to the phone or tablet for easy relay to a decision maker. The included cables can also live stream the camera screen to a laptop or TV for a presentation. Bluetooth connects the T540 to many MeterLink equipped FLIR and Extech multimeters, clamp meters, and moisture meters. GPS data can be stored with each image, virtually eliminating any question as to where an image was taken. For subsequent analysis, organization, and reporting, FLIR Tools software is included for Apple and PC platforms.

Measurement: Professionals need accurate non-contact measurement to make critical decisions. The FLIR T540 infrared camera includes all the best FLIR measurement tools, including multiple user set spot meters and area boxes. The area boxes can identify min, max, and average temps, and even identify surface area in square feet or meters. The imaging color palette can be changed between all of the best FLIR palettes, including Iron, Gray, Rainbow, Arctic, Lava, and Rainbow HC. Two programmable buttons help you quickly change between frequently used setting, whether emissivity, measurement tools, or toggling between image and video recording. The FLIR T540 thermal camera offers professionals the imaging and measurement tools needed to make the right decision quickly and safely.
